Today, mainly because I was bored at work and had nothing better to do, I started porting Sage 1.3.10 to Firefox 3. It seems as if Peter Andrews, and the rest of the Sage Team, have abandoned Sage. So seeing as a number of people still use Sage (And many seem to be whining about its availability for Firefox 3), I thought that porting the code would be a pretty cool little project.
I plan to keep the functionality of Sage the same as it is in version 1.3.10. Please don’t ask for additional functionality to be added, because it’s not going to happen.
The porting process is basically tying the 1.3.10 code into Places. It may sound simple, but believe me it isn’t. Anyway, I made pretty significant progress today, and hopefully within a few days, I’ll be able to release a working version of Sage for Firefox 3.

Thanks a lot, Mike
I normally use Sage at work where I need something small and quick, but WizRSS at home where I want something more complete.
Mike, this is the best news I’ve read all week. You’ll be a Firefox 3 hero for this.

Great news for Sage users! Sage is a very popular extension, so it was painful to watch it wither. If you need any help or just have some questions, be sure to go to #extdev on Mozilla IRC (http://irc.mozilla.org for info)
thanks a lot!
Bumping maxVersion will not work! Later today I’ll release a version for 3.0b5.
Mike: where will you be publishing this updated Sage build?
@csulok – Eventually it’ll be published on the AMO site. Right now you can get betas for testing in the Sage blog – http://sage.blat.co.za
Thanks
It’s a great notice for sage users.
Thanks a bunch. What can I do to help.
Jeff
It’s already back – https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/7263
Excellent news – this was stopping me upgrading to FF3. Time to go get it!
