I’ve been working on a stripped down version of Wizz RSS. I have stripped out all of the weather stuff and all of the Watch List stuff, and I plan to make it available as Wizz RSS Lite. Wizz RSS Lite will be a totally separate Firefox addon. It was inspired by a request made by VJ quite a few months ago.
Anyway, while I was working on Wizz RSS Lite, I decided to test what I’d done. Stripping out the Watch List code isn’t quite as easy as I thought it would be, so I’ve been trying to test quite thoroughly. Those of you who have been using Wizz for a while will already know that I don’t usually test very well
One of the things I tested was the podcast/enclosure saving functionality, and discovered that it isn’t working at all. 2.9.3 isn’t even reading podcast/enclosure feeds!
I guess it’s due to changes made to the Firefox feed reading API. I’ll fix it over the next day or two, and I’ll make an updated version of 2.9.3 available for download. If everything goes according to plan, I should be able to release a beta of Wizz RSS Lite at the same time.
